Beauway BW Tail Lift Troubleshooting Guide

Beauway BW tail lifts including cantilever tail lift, folding tail lift, built-in tail lifts, vertical tail lift, concealed tail lift, three-section bumper tail lift and wheelchair lift are designed for heavy-duty applications. This guide provides practical troubleshooting solutions for liftgate not lifting, liftgate not working and hydraulic liftgate problems.

Hydraulic System – Liftgate Not Lifting
  • Check hydraulic oil (ISO VG32 / VG46)
  • Ensure oil level is above minimum when lowered
  • Replace oil if dark or milky
  • Standard pressure: 16–20 MPa
  • Inspect hydraulic pump and relief valve
  • Bleed air if movement is unstable
  • Check cylinder seals if platform drifts down
Electrical System – Liftgate Not Working
  • Battery ≥ 12V, recommended ≥12.5V under load
  • Check wiring, terminals and corrosion
  • Test control switch and remote
  • Inspect relay and fuse
  • Ensure motor receives power
Mechanical System – Platform Issues
  • Inspect pins and hinges for wear or deformation
  • Check rollers and guide rails
  • Ensure platform alignment
  • Lubricate moving parts every 1–2 months
Power System – Motor Running No Movement
  • Check pump coupling connection
  • Inspect motor output and current
  • Listen for abnormal noise
  • Replace hydraulic pump if no pressure
Operation and Maintenance
  • Do not exceed rated load capacity
  • Inspect system every 1–3 months
  • Replace hydraulic oil every 6–12 months
  • Ensure proper operator training
Recommended inspection order: electrical system → hydraulic system → mechanical structure.
